Delivery
We deliver to Mainland UK only, covering England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, or the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

Free UK mainland delivery applies to all gate orders. Accessories and gate hardware are also delivered free when ordered with a gate. If purchased separately, delivery charges will apply at checkout.

Estimated lead times from order date are
3-4 weeks for standard-size gates
5-6 weeks for custom-size gates.

Where possible, we use our own Readymade Gates delivery team rather than third-party couriers, helping to ensure your products are handled carefully and placed where needed at your property. We’ll send you an update as soon as your order has been dispatched.

If an order is placed for an excluded area, we will contact you to cancel and refund it. Any non-refundable transaction or payment processing fees may be deducted from the refund total.

Returns
If you’d like to return an item, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.

If the goods need to be collected, we’ll arrange a collection from the original delivery address. A £36 collection fee will apply if we arrange collection for your return.

Your refund will be processed once the products have been returned to our warehouse and inspected. We’ll get in touch to agree a convenient collection date and time.

Please note: for any modified products, custom cut-to-size items, or custom colour orders, we’re unable to accept returns or cancellations once production has started.

If any custom item arrives with a manufacturing fault or damage, we will of course assess the issue and arrange a repair, replacement, or replacement parts as appropriate.

Important: Please inspect your gate fully for scratches, marks or damage before installation and contact us immediately if you identify any issues.

Product & installation questions

Will this gate fit my opening?

Each gate is supplied in a set frame size. Please measure your brick-to-brick opening carefully and compare it with the size guide on this page. If you’re unsure, email our customer service team with photos and measurements.
Do I need posts for this gate?

You can fix the gate to existing brickwork or to aluminium posts. Posts are not included as standard – if you need them, please see our Aluminium Posts range or contact us for advice.
Can I install the gate myself?

Yes, a competent DIYer or installer can fit the gate using the supplied hardware. We recommend two people for lifting and fixing. Please follow the installation guide and video on installation guide page.
How much maintenance is required?

Our aluminium and composite gates are designed to be low maintenance. They do not rust or rot and don’t need repainting. We simply recommend washing them down occasionally with mild soapy water and checking the hinges and fixings once or twice a year.
Can you cut the gate to a custom width?

Yes, we offer a custom width cutting service on selected gates. Choose the Custom width cut option on the product page and enter your required finished size in millimetres. We will trim the gate to suit and finish the cut edge so it’s ready to install. Custom-cut gates are made to your measurements, so they can’t be returned or exchanged unless faulty. Please double-check your opening size before placing your order or contact us if you’re unsure.
Can I order a custom colour?

Yes, we can supply gates in custom RAL colours on request. If you would like a non-standard colour, please contact our customer service team with the RAL code from the RAL colour chart and the product details. We’ll confirm availability, lead time and pricing before you place your order.
What warranty do you offer?

All Readymade Gates products are covered by our standard 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Do you provide an installation service?

We do not currently offer an in-house installation service. Most customers use a local builder, landscaper or gate installer to fit their gate. We’re happy to provide general guidance.
Does the gate come with a lock and handle?

Yes. Our pedestrian gates are supplied with a lock and handle set as standard, along with the necessary fixings. Posts are not included unless specifically stated and can be purchased separately.
Can the pedestrian gates be hinged to the left or right?

Yes. The pedestrian gates can be fitted to hinge on either the left or the right, depending on your opening and how you would like the gate to swing. Your installer will position the hinges and latch to suit your layout.
How do I measure the width of gate I need?

Start by measuring the clear distance between the pillars or posts where the pedestrian gate will be installed. Measure the brick-to-brick (or post-to-post) opening in millimetres.

I was quoted over £2000 for a bespoke gate. I found Ready Made Gates, measured and ordered one myself for less than a quarter of that price. Delivery was in less than 2 weeks, you get a text from the actual driver (not a bot) to confirm delivery details the night before.
I am not the best at DIY but fitted the gate by myself in less than 3 hours. Very very pleased with the product. Top tip is that the installation guides on the website are a lot better than the paper instructions in with the packaging.

The overall quality and finish of these gates and the fittings provided is really very good - once installed they are superb and look like they will be durable long term.

Installation is quite tricky particularly as the instructions provided are quite basic and being generic don’t cover all of the options. So some time is needed to fully understand all of the parts provided and how they work together. We also found out some neat tweaks that are not mentioned in the instructions but proved very useful - for instance you can overcome an out of vertical wall by packing the the door stop profile within the post profile - this proved very useful.

Excellent product. Only issue is the post side needs to have cover part cut and inserted in a particular order as the nuts and lock keep panel pieces do not slide past the big bolts.
