Aluminium Wall-Mounted Hinge Gate Post – Garden & Pedestrian Gate (Single Post)
This single aluminium hinge post is designed specifically for our Garden & Pedestrian Gates when you don’t have a suitable wall for fixing the hinges. Made from robust yet lightweight aluminium, it provides a sturdy fixing point on the hinge side of the gate while keeping maintenance to a minimum. The clean, modern profile works perfectly with contemporary UK homes and gardens.
The post is surface-mounted to the wall, so there’s no need for digging holes or concreting in – ideal for fixing to a solid wall or existing structure.
Posts are supplied individually (one post per pack) and come complete with a post cap and all required fittings and fixings. Designed for gates up to 2000mm in height (post height 2100 mm).

All posts are 2100mm high with an 80mm depth, and three width options:
- W25mm
- W50mm
- W75mm
These width options are designed to help you match the total opening width when installing a gate. Openings between walls or posts are not always a standard size, so different post widths give you flexibility and make installation easier.
How to choose the right post size (example)
- If you install one of our Garden & Pedestrian Gates without any posts, allow 30 mm in total for hinges and clearance.
- If you are using a Receiver Gate Post (even if you also add a Hinge Gate Post): allow 20mm for clearance.
- Allow 30mm for hinges and clearance when fitting the gate without a Receiver Gate Post. If you select a Receiver Gate Post (with or without a Hinge Gate Post), the required clearance is 20mm.

Opening width = 855mm
- 800mm (gate)
- 30mm (clearance)
- 25mm (Hinge Gate Post)

Example B – Hinge Gate Post + Receiver Gate Post

Delivery
We deliver to Mainland UK only, covering England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, or the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
Delivery charges apply to posts, accessories and gate hardware when purchased separately. If ordered with a gate, these items are delivered FREE as part of the gate order.
Estimated lead times from order date:
- Standard-size garden gates, double driveway gates and posts: 2–3 weeks
- Custom-size or custom colour garden gates, double driveway gates and posts: 4–6 weeks
- Sliding gates: 6–8 weeks
- Automatic bollards: 2–3 weeks
Orders with factory-fitted handle sets are included within the lead times above.
Where possible, we use our own Readymade Gates delivery team rather than third-party couriers, helping to ensure your products are handled carefully and placed where needed at your property. We’ll send you an update as soon as your order has been dispatched.
If an order is placed for an excluded area, we will contact you to cancel and refund it. Any non-refundable transaction or payment processing fees may be deducted from the refund total.

Returns
If you’d like to return an item, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.
If the goods need to be collected, we’ll arrange a collection from the original delivery address. A £36 collection fee will apply if we arrange collection for your return.
Your refund will be processed once the products have been returned to our warehouse and inspected. We’ll get in touch to agree a convenient collection date and time.
Please note: for any modified products, custom cut-to-size items, or custom colour orders, we’re unable to accept returns or cancellations once production has started.
If any custom item arrives with a manufacturing fault or damage, we will of course assess the issue and arrange a repair, replacement, or replacement parts as appropriate.

Product & installation questions
Will this gate fit my opening?
Each gate is supplied in a set frame size. Please measure your brick-to-brick opening carefully and compare it with the size guide on this page. If you’re unsure, email our customer service team with photos and measurements.
Do I need posts for this gate?
You can fix the gate to existing brickwork or to aluminium posts. Posts are not included as standard – if you need them, please see our Aluminium Posts range or contact us for advice.
Can I install the gate myself?
Yes, a competent DIYer or installer can fit the gate using the supplied hardware. We recommend two people for lifting and fixing. Please follow the installation guide and video on installation guide page.
How much maintenance is required?
Our aluminium and composite gates are designed to be low maintenance. They do not rust or rot and don’t need repainting. We simply recommend washing them down occasionally with mild soapy water and checking the hinges and fixings once or twice a year.
Can you cut the gate to a custom width?
Yes, we offer a custom width cutting service on selected gates. Choose the Custom width cut option on the product page and enter your required finished size in millimetres. We will trim the gate to suit and finish the cut edge so it’s ready to install. Custom-cut gates are made to your measurements, so they can’t be returned or exchanged unless faulty. Please double-check your opening size before placing your order or contact us if you’re unsure.
Can I order a custom colour?
Yes, we can supply gates in custom RAL colours on request. If you would like a non-standard colour, please contact our customer service team with the RAL code from the RAL colour chart and the product details. We’ll confirm availability, lead time and pricing before you place your order.
What warranty do you offer?
All Readymade Gates products are covered by our standard 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Do you provide an installation service?
We do not currently offer an in-house installation service. Most customers use a local builder, landscaper or gate installer to fit their gate. We’re happy to provide general guidance.
Does the gate come with a lock and handle?
Yes. Our pedestrian gates are supplied with a lock and handle set as standard, along with the necessary fixings. Posts are not included unless specifically stated and can be purchased separately.
Can the pedestrian gates be hinged to the left or right?
Yes. The pedestrian gates can be fitted to hinge on either the left or the right, depending on your opening and how you would like the gate to swing. Your installer will position the hinges and latch to suit your layout.
How do I measure the width of gate I need?
Start by measuring the clear distance between the pillars or posts where the pedestrian gate will be installed. Measure the brick-to-brick (or post-to-post) opening in millimetres.
